We must shoulder the blame

Anti semitism is once again on the rise. Once again we are blamed for most of the ills of the world. Every few years we are the victims of the KU Klux Klan, or the Palestinians, or the Syrians, or many of the Arab nations, the religious fanatics who call themselves Muslims, and the list goes on and on.

I often felt that if there were no religion, there would be very few wars, hate would disappear and people would stop killing each other. George Carlin - Religion is (Click on his humor)

To a great extent, religion has become a business in all denominations. Hate is sometimes born of fear or jealousy or of inadequacy and if religion is to teach love for thy fellow man, the teachers are ill equipped or don't believe in the meaning.

Anti Semitism is not a disease people are born with, it is instilled in them by the teachings of their parents. One would hope as the years have passed these teachings would have become less
prevelent but, they have not.

Muslims are supposedly taught to love their neighbors, or at least I am told that is what the Koran teaches. There must be a passage in that sacred document I am not aware of.

Persecution of the Jews is nothing new, it has been a fact of life that has existed since religion was born. We must continue to teach ours that all people are born equal, that no religion is to be despised and that tolerance is a virtue. Perhaps in time we can someday change religious hate into religious understanding. One thing is certain, we will never be persecuted as in days gone by- we have suffered enough!
